Our stores have been working hard to implement additional safety measures to ensure all of our visitors and their employees remain safe, as well as enhanced cleaning and sanitisation stations throughout the centre.

We ask that all visitors wear a face covering whilst onsite (unless you are exempt) and keep to the social distancing guidelines of 2 metres.

This is its first store in Warrington, and the business was created by the original founders of Poundworld Retail.  One Below will breathe new life in to the former popular Poundworld store at Cockhedge Shopping Park.

Bucking the current declining trend of other retailers on the high street, One Below has invested a six figure sum in the opening of the store and will create 30 local retail jobs for the town. Centre Manager George Wesson commented:

“The Cockhedge Shopping Centre is happy to welcome our newest retailer One Below, who have taken a 7,500 sq ft unit in the mall. It’s good to see during these difficult times that the heart of retail is still beating.”

One Below has implemented recommended social distancing and hygiene measures in order for customers to shop safely.

The store has a huge range of essential items across 10 departments including cleaning, groceries, cleaning, home, health and beauty, baby care, toy, DIY. Plus there’s a fantastic range of Halloween decorations, dress up and partyware for last minute shoppers and a huge Christmas range which launches in store on November 1^st.

A wide range of branded goods such as Coca Cola, Pedigree, Heinz, Kellogg’s and Cadbury’s will be on offer in store. Plus, many popular cleaning names such as Zoflora and The Pink Stuff, as favoured by social media superstar Mrs Hinch.

Christopher Edwards (37) managing director of One Below Retail Limited said: “We’re delighted to be opening a new store in Warrington. We are the only store on the high street to sell over 5,000 items for £1 or even less!

“Now more than ever, when times are financially tighter for so many families, we are proud to be offering incredible savings on hundreds of shopping essentials and big brand items.

“It’s great to be able to breathe fresh new life in to the empty store”.

Since its launch 18 months ago, the independent retailer has opened 60 stores UK wide.

The new brand is being independently financed and launched by Yorkshire father and son retail entrepreneurs, Christopher Edwards (36) and Christopher Edwards Senior. The successful businessmen were the original founders of former high street retailer, Poundworld Retail Limited before it was sold to American private equity conglomerate, TPG Capital in 2014.

Many of the former Poundworld staff who lost their jobs when the old Poundworld shop went into administration in 2018 have been given new employment at the brand new One Below store.

We’re pleased to have recently welcomed back some of our retailers, who have re-opened and been well received by our visitors. They have all been keen to re-open for you, but only as and when it was advised that it was safe to do so.

Our essential stores have been open throughout the Covid-19 lockdown (Asda, Savers, The Vet, Cockhedge Medical Centre and B&M Stores) and have all done a fantastic job, in what has been a very challenging, worrying and constantly changing time.

You will also notice new safety measures that have been put into place – to keep our visitors, staff and retailer staff safe:

• Specific entrance and exit doors
• One way system throughout the centre
• 2 metre social distancing reminders
• Hand sanitisation stations throughout the centre for you to use

Please adhere to these additional measures, as they are here for everyone’s health and wellbeing.
